Meet Our Counselors
DR. LONNIE M. STAPP
Doctor of Psychology
I am Dr. Lonnie Stapp, the founder and Clinical Director of Avalon Counseling, one of the top-rated out-patient mental health clinics in Coeur d’Alene and Northern Idaho. I am a Washington Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LH-6098807) and in Idaho a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC-6878), with a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology. In addition, I am a Vietnam-era veteran, with two grown children. Having been born and raised along the Gulf coast of Texas I am invigorated every day with the beauty of the Inland Northwest and the heartiness of the people who inhabit it. I see people facing a variety of challenges, but Anxiety, Depression, Panic disorder, Gender Issues, Sexual Orientation, Obsessive Compulsive (Dis)Order, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Couples Counseling, and Sexual Addictions are my areas of specialization. My approach to therapy stems from acceptance and mindfulness strategies which generally means I help people to identify who and what is most important to them and then to move in a positive way in those directions, despite the unpleasant internal distress that often seems to keep us stuck.
ERIN BUNDY
Licensed Mental Health Counselor
I am Erin Bundy, a licensed mental health counselor in the state of Idaho. My education as an undergraduate was through Gonzaga University, where I earned a B.A. in Sociology and Philosophy, and my graduate degree was through University of Idaho, where I earned a Master of Education in Counseling and Human Services. In addition to counseling, I periodically teach college courses, mostly in Sociology but occasionally I teach English courses, as well.
I have worked with clients to address a broad range of concerns including depression, anxiety, addiction, suicidal ideation, post traumatic stress disorder, gender issues, sexual orientation issues, and marital/relationship issues.
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my husband and family, especially my nephews, who are four and six years old. I also have a great love of animals, and I have two dogs and six cats, three of whom are blind, and all of whom bring great joy.
